Please note: The Town of Middletown will be sending out registration forms in your January utility bill, so you have the option to mail your form in with your monthly payment! Thank you.

The Middletown Police Department is asking all residents and businesses to register your home and business security alarms with us. Did you know there are more than 1,000 “false” alarms each year in the Town of Middletown? This means our police officers are spending time responding to false alarm calls, when they could be addressing other crime issues in Town.

Due to this issue, the Mayor and Council of Middletown recently passed an ordinance REQUIRING all Middletown security alarms to be registered. If you do not register your security alarm, you will receive a fine from our police department if they have to respond to your home or business for a false alarm. If you DO register your security alarm, you get several chances for a false alarm before being fined.

You will receive an alarm registration form in your January Town of Middletown utility bill that you can fill out and send back to us with your monthly payment. You may also register by downloading and printing a form at www.middletownpd.us or www.middletownde.org. Or, you may stop by Town Hall, 19 W. Green St., to pick up a form. This new policy goes into effect in March. For more information, call Kristen Krenzer at 378-2711.

To help keep up with the increase in summertime activities at the Middletown parks and other town public areas, Middletown PD brought on six seasonal police officers to aid the department in watching out for parking violations and other public nuisances that tend to hinder the quality of life for town residents. Look for these officers out on bicycles and around town!

If you see this portable radar enforcement trailer, take note of your speed. Middletown Police have been placing this trailer at strategic locations around town and this trailer is considered your warning -- once this trailer is removed, police will be working to enforce speeds in the area.
